Aamir Khan is producing Sunny Deol's Lahore 1947 in the direction of Rajkumar Santhoshi. The movie shoot started last year after Aamir loved the script and wanted to take it to sets. He might appear in a cameo or not in the movie but he locked Independence Day weekend following Sunny Deol's recent form. 

His Gaddar 2 became a huge blockbuster announcing his big comeback and pushing Aamir Khan to produce the film. The movie released for Independence Day weekend and became Rs.500 crore grosser. Recently, for this year's Republic Day his long awaited Border 2 released and managed to collect good amount. 

So, Lahore 1947 movie releasing for Independence Weekend will be a testament for his recent form. Aamir Khan as a producer did not find success at the box office and he is looking for this one to be a big blockbuster. Rajkumar Santhoshi and Sunny Deol combination has been huge in 90's and we have to see if they can deliver similarly or not.
